Halon Management Plan

The project objective is accelerated halon phase-out and elimination in the Republic of Macedonia through preparation of National Halon Management Plan. Besides other topics the National Halon Management Plan contains the most effective methods for halon and halon stockpiles management and their complete elimination.

In the last decade the halon consumption was mostly for fixed and mobile fire extinguishing equipment maintenance. However, the evidence of existing halon quantities, as well as the obligations to the Montreal Protocol, show the necessity of urgent action for defining the future steps for halon elimination.

The training includes introduction of all stakeholders about halon reduction and elimination, national legislation related to halon issue and Montreal Protocol provisions, alternatives and final solution for halon replacement.
